Working hard perhaps, but not working smart. In most instances, the Cane Corso is a hobby level of commitment as opposed to a pet level. Not all but almost all of what you describe above are based on ‘All Positive/Purely Positive/Force-Free… .’ the arena of the amateur companion dog trainer and serious trouble for a Cane Corso owner.
I won’t here as it’s a seminar level presentation rather than a casual blog post but I can make a reasonable, strong and scientifically supported argument that very little that currently passes for ‘learning theory’ in companion dog training is based on canine or human behavior in the context of how any higher order social [...]

I have a three-year-old male aggressive Doberman. We did obedience with him his whole life. The problem started off as redirection. He got into a fight with his brother. When I tried breaking it up, he snapped at me. And I had no choice but throw him down and hold till he gave up. I [...]
When I see that someone shares something I’ve created, It makes me think that something I wrote resonated and the person sharing makes me recall the Edmund Burke and Eldridge Cleaver quotes found in the header and at the very bottom of this post. Maybe what I wrote, was just something with which they agreed. [...]
I highly recommend John for dog training. He came into our home when our dog was a pup. It was helpful for him to see how she behaved in her own environment and he gave us plenty of realistic tips and guidance to mould her into the dog she is today! 👍👍
John is a wonderful dog trainer. He worked with our bossy Aussie Shep cross and gave us simple but useful tips on making sure Bear knew he was not in charge. It was remarkable to watch him with Bear and how quickly he had him under control.
JOHN Wade is the best dog trainer I have met. He has helped us over the years in dog training. The best time to speak with John is before you purchased a puppy. He has a great understanding of breeding and dog traits that will help you select the right animal.
John was patient and very informative and understanding of our situation. He worked with the whole family (kids included). Everything he taught us has been extremely helpful, and he's always happy to answer any quick questions we have. I would recommend him to anyone!
I have known John for a long time, and have watched as he has progressed in his chosen field of dog training. It is with full confidence that I can say I would 100% trust him with his puppy and adult dog training advise. He has helped me with several concerns I have had over the years, with my various puppies and dogs, and I am always grateful for his sensible, no-nonsense, and logical recommendations; and, I am subsequently rewarded with a much happier and comfortable relationship with each of my dogs :) Thanks John!
I chose John for training our Cane Corso puppy. I don’t live in the area, but was able to Skype with him after reading his books. He may not have been in my home, but it certainly felt like he was right here! He was very helpful and informative, answering all of my questions with great detail. My pup has responded so positively to the training already, and John’s methods are so common sense and practical, it makes it so doable to put into place. Plus, the ongoing support has been exceptional! I appreciate having a way to train my dog that does not use treats and does not use force. I would highly recommend John to anyone with a puppy to get started off on the right foot, or for an adult dog that needs help.read more
John is awesome! He came out to our house on a weekend to help us with some of the issues we had been having with our dog. He is very knowledgeable and had so much information, tips and tricks to help us. I was surprised on how fast our dog was listening as we had tried many different things in the past. He is great with following up as well! He is always available if you have any questions or concerns if things aren’t going as planned.read more
John came to our house and by the time he left, we already saw a change in our dog! John helped us better understand our relationship with our dog. John explained his training techniques, showed us, and then let us try. The only regret we have is not having John come to our house when our dog was a puppy! Would definitely recommend John Wade to any dog owner who wants to train or correct their dog’s behaviour.read more
After adding a new puppy to our family, we decided to call John Wade to see if he could help us get him off to a good start. Before even booking a training session, John provided us with an abundance of great information to get us started. When John showed up to our house for the training session, he was very personable and professional. He told us what he was going to do and how our new puppy was going to respond. This is where I said to myself "ya right".Sure enough, it all came to fruition. I was blown away. I did not think that a puppy was capable of responding like that. The training session exceeded my expectations tenfold.I can't say enough good things about John and his training services. I can, without a doubt, say that John Wade provided and continues to provide a level of service that unmatched.Thank you Mr Wade.read more
I'm so thankful for the help we got from John. Baggins, our 10 month old Golden Doodle is like a new dog after one session, and the follow-up material he sends out after is so helpful for continuing the training. For the first time our 3 year old granddaughter was able to get down on the floor beside Baggins and cuddle with him. She now says "I miss Baggins" whereas before she didn't "like big dogs". We are looking forward to much more enjoyment with Baggins for our entire family and anyone who comes into our home. I highly recommend John's services.read more
John provided me with some very helpful tools in order to train my 2 year old pup. He explained everything so in depth in order for me to gain understanding and recognize the importance of certain training techniques and because of this, I myself am more motivated to keep on the training plan for my fur baby. After 2 days, I am already seeing improvements. 10/10 recommend!read more
We had John in to train our new cocker spaniel puppy, Finn. My family had used John 12 years ago with our family dog (a newfoundland/golden retriever) and had great success so it was an easy decision to go with John Wade and his training services. Thanks to John's methods, we are already noticing a difference in bathroom habits (he is now going outside), mouthing, and jumping. John was so kind with our little guy and his training methods are easy to follow and gentle on the puppy. We like how John's methods don't use treats but instead use affection for the puppy mixed with a firm no when needed. John offers a tremendous amount of follow up support after he leaves the house, which is great for little or big questions that arise with a new puppy. My wife and I would (and already have) recommend John to any of our friends and family. Thank you John for coming to our home to teach us about how to be the loving and teaching dog parents we need to be! The photo attached is from the first day we got little Finn!read more

John came to our home to help us with our new rescue dog as he has a severe case of fear aggression. John was very helpful from the moment he stepped inside our door, and by the time he left we could already see an improvement in the dog's behaviour. John is amazing! He's so patient and knowledgeable and sensitive to each and every individuals situation. He was recommended to me by a few friends and I'm so happy we called him. He worked with the whole family and showed us what to do and what not to do to make sure both humans and fur babies were content. Our dogs are doing so well, and we owe it to him! I have been struggling with how to train my two year old dog. Everything that my boyfriend on I learned on ways to train dogs does not work with Tito. Tito shuts down and gets "snippy" when he get frustrated, so it has been hard to find an approach that works. John came to our house, and the technique he uses has already benefited us with training Tito. John explained the errors we have been doing as owners without judging/ or putting us down. Rather, he made us have some "AH HA!" moments. The 4 most important things I found with John that really made me appreciate our session together was: 1. He didn't try to train our dog, he told us what to do so Tito felt the authority from us not John. 2. He took the time to explain everything in detail. 3. The training technique he uses is without treats or fear. I also really like that he told us at one point to "pet him with our voice" when he does something good. 4 (& the MOST important) he didn't tell us "with me, your dog will be perfect" or "he will completely change with my technique". He told us we will see a change, we will be able to take him in public. John shot us straight, my dog will never be a Golden Retriever, but he will be a better Tito & thats all we asked for :)Thanks John for giving us the confidence and better parenting techniques to give to our Tito.read more
