Genome Sequencing Highlights Surprise Regarding the Early History of Dogs

New research suggests that dogs are not as closely related to what we know as wolves as previous research has led many to believe. It seems their actual ancestors are extinct. The study goes on to propose that a dog’s ability to digest starch developed later than earlier thought. I’m providing an attachment of the research paper.
